Getting In Shape - May-June 2010

It's the last week of June and MaChusla hasn't been out of her slip yet.  But many tasks have been completed.  Sorting, organizing, varnishing, cleaning, small repairs, disposing of "junk", and much more has been accomplished.  While she is not yet in "Bristol" condition and there are many more tasks to be completed, she is ready to leave the slip and do what she was built to do - sail.

The following pictures provide an indication of the work that needed to be done on the interior.  Lots of things to sort, dispose of, clean, etc.  All of the interior woodwork needed to be sanded and re-varnished.

The pictures below indicate progress in getting her in shape.  Not quite finished but considerable improvement. Since these pictures were taken the outside has been power washed and a start has been made as refinishing the teak trim.

Post Script:  MaChusla finally left the dock for a short trip across the Bay on July 3rd.  She's a very well mannered boat and handles easily.
